Lazy River Vineyard
Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Oregon
The Lumpkin Family owns the Lazy River Vineyard located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Without a doubt, it’s one of the most picturesque vineyards around. Lazy River is a cool location (both pretty and tempature cool) nearly touching the foothills of the Coastal Range. Therefore, the vines have less vigor and ripen at a slower pace. In particular, the Wadenswil is interesting because it ripens very late, has a lot of tannins, and a lot of acid. This creates a unique combo for us to work with. If you are willing to wait late into harvest, there are lots of dark fruit flavors and the end result leans toward lower alcohol.
